Through a continued relationship with Karma Agency in Philadelphia, Springhouse Films had the pleasure of creating an opening video for the guests of the Academy of Music‘s 162nd Anniversary Concert & Ball.

This year’s white tie ball opened with the short film created by Springhouse. The ball was held on January 26, with 1,800 guests in attendance. The annual celebration honors the anniversary of the opening of Philadelphia’s “Cornerstone of Culture,” the Academy of Music. The concert featured special guest artist Dame Helen Mirren and a 90-minute performance by The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Afterwards, guests were invited to The Bellevue Hotel for dinner and an evening of live music.

Proceeds from the Anniversary Concert & Ball and Restoration Fund gifts are the only means of keeping the Academy preserved for use by Resident Companies like The Philadelphia Orchestra, Pennsylvania Ballet, Broadway Philadelphia and Opera Philadelphia. As a National Historic Landmark, the video we produced highlights the Academy’s preservation efforts and restoration projects and explains the mission behind the Restoration Fund.
